David E. Merrell- Russian Systema- is a 28 year veteran firefighter from West Palm Beach, Florida and has been studying martial arts since for more than 35 years. His studies have included Tai chi, Bagua, Hsing-I, Seighi Bushido Ru, Hapkido, Aikido, Tuite grappling as well as Judo and Jujitsu. David holds high ranking positions in several of these arts. After competing in numerous Pachivas Pankration events David continues to participate in the position of head referee.

Compiling the many styles of his studies and experiences, David has now dedicated his energy to �Systema,� a long held secret of the Russian Military. David was the first American from the United States to study under Vladimir Vasiliev where he became one of the first certified instructors in North America. He was also one of the first two American instructors to travel to Moscow, Russia where he became a certified instructor under Mikhail Ryabko. Continuing on with his studies, David has now reached the level of senior instructor. David�s love for the martial arts can be felt and witnessed as he teaches and passes on the secrets of Systema. He enjoys the expression of martial arts and his passion for teaching and sharing Systema is an unforgettable heartfelt experience!
